BookPros/NBN Preliminary Talks
Publishing Company Seeks New Distribution Opportunities for Authors

Austin, TEXAS – BookPros has a new arrangement in the works with industry-giant National Book Network, or NBN, that will significantly increase product distribution by adding a new publishing imprint to its repertoire.

Recently celebrating its 20th anniversary, NBN is now the largest independent distributor in North America and ranks among the top 10 vendors with each of their accounts. Their clients include every venue for book sales including traditional, nontraditional and online accounts in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Europe.

The pending corporate partnership will allow titles under the new imprint, Ovation Books, greater access to national bookstores and wholesale distributors. BookPros already provides clients two imprints, Synergy Books and Bridgeway Books, each offering varied levels of distribution.

Since 2004, titles under the Synergy Books imprint have been distributed by Biblio Distribution, Inc., a sister company of NBN formed in 2001 to better suit the needs of smaller trade publishers.

NBN has strong strategic relationships with key organizations in the industry such as Publishers Weekly, Reed Expositions, BISG and PMA. Their first-rate status guarantees a prime location at BookExpo America, an event attended each year by approximately 25,000 industry professionals, and plays a key role in the success of BookPros’ clients.

“A relationship with NBN will elevate our books to compete on the level of leading U.S. and overseas publishers. New avenues will open for our authors that currently are open only to an elite group of publishers,” says Amanda Willis, BookPros’ Director of Publishing Services.

NBN has invested in a multi-million-dollar distribution center, housed in 300,000 square feet of warehouse, which uses state-of-the-art technology for quick and accurate distribution. The company is a subsidiary of one of America’s largest academic publishers, The Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, Inc. (RLPG). Both NBN and RLPG are headquartered in a suburb northeast of Washington, D.C.
